breaking news out of prince georgia county. >> we have the verdict of two cops caught on tape beating a student at the university of maryland. >> reporter: the jury had been deliberating for hours, since 3:00 this afternoon, shortly before ten tonight. the one guilty verdict came down for officer james

harrison. found guilty of 2nd degree assault and not guilty of other charges. regional baker was found not guilty of both charges. stemming from the march 2010 beating of student john mckenna taken down and repeatedly hit with batons following a basketball game celebration. shortly after the verdict, john mckenna spoke to reporters and here is what he said. >> i am glad that some justice has been done. it has been a long two years for me and my family. there is a broader crime committed here. for the two cops in the trial and we hope the department of justice continues the investigation. >> emotions still raw for all of those involved. the pring georgia's county

state attorney and mark mcgraw addressed reporters saying they respect the verdict handed down by the jury. harrison's sentence is scheduled next month and he could face up to ten years in prison. >> what about the officer acquitted does go back to work. >> officer baker, it is not clear if he wants his job back, but if he does chief mcgraw will go before an appeals board and enters the board and they will reinvestigate the claim and look at the evidence and determine if he's suited to return back to the streets. both of these officers are still technically classified as being suspended with pay. they have been paid receiving payment this entire time. that is the significance with officer baker. we have got more breaking news. the fbi is searching what is believed to be the arlington participate of leon, jr.

>> accused of three ag molotov cocktail at an apartment complex. >> the wood bury complex in the 1100 block of arlington. what the fbi calls a response team and bomb squad began the search of the 2nd degree floor apartment at 5:00. about three hours after the initial appearance in federal court of suspect leon trail, 29 arrested after police say he tried to ignite a molotov cocktail. it did not explode. >> it was a rude, crude device. >> reporter: police said he left in a backpack three similar devices. appearing in federal court charged with arson, he said nothing. the fbi says right now it anticipates no other arrests.

>> that could potentially change depending on what he has found here. the affidavit in support of this search warrant is sealed which means the fbi does not want to you see what it is in it. if convicted he could face five to 25 years in prison. right now emergency crews are on the scene of a deadly accident that involved a metro bus. shortly before ten, a car crashed into the side after bus. this happened near the addison road metro station in prince george's county. the victim that died was in the car. eight other on the bus have been taken to the hospital but told their injuries are not life-threatening. new information sur rounding the murder of chris stevens the ambassador to libya. documents show stevens had requested more security from the state department weeks before he and three other americans were killed by militants at attacked the u.s. consulate in benghazi. he asked for a extension of

moment. and your weather headlines, we have a great weekend on tap. we will see a return of the sunshine. we are going to see fall-like humidity come back in the forecast. along with cooler temperatures and the sunshine will stay with us not only through the weekend but as we head into next week. the temperatures are going to get warmer as we head into the work week as well. right now we had seasonably cool stuff, 54 in martinsburg and 57 at andrews air force base and 67 in eastton. still mild. the storm system is pulling away to the northeast and that will allow the dryer air to come in from the west. you can see the back side of this storm system. it rolled through on thursday. it will continue to move to the north and east. maybe just a trailing shower tomorrow. i think the best likelihood for that shower will be in the mountains and also up towards

the mason-dixon line. overnight just partly cloudy and cooler with a low-down to 44 degrees. 53 down with the light winds out of the southwest. saturday, morning will be partly cloudy and pleasant with temperatures in the 50s as we head into saturday afternoon. that's when we have the chance for a sprinkle. if you get a sprinkle, it will be short lived. we are not looking at a lot of rain, nothing like we had today. the temperatures between 63 and 67 degrees with the southwest breeze at five to ten miles per hour. through the zones we will look at temperatures close to normal. 67 in leesburg and 66 in warrenton and 62 in come ber ton and to the beltway the temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. 68 in andrews air force base and 67 in baltimore. the temperatures won't move very much during the overnight hours and into tomorrow.
